About Southern Connecticut State University

Southern Connecticut State University, or simply SCSU, is a public university in New Haven, which is the 2nd largest municipality in the US state of Connecticut, as well as the 6th largest municipality in New England, having a population estimated at a number of approximately 123 000 inhabitants. The university was founded in 1893, and it is the 3rd oldest campus in the Connecticut State University System.

SCSU currently has an enrollment of more than 6000 undergraduates, and offers educational programs in numerous fields of study, through the School of Education, School of Business, and other academic divisions focused on other areas.

Athletics

SCSU's athletic teams are known as the Owls, who compete in NCAA Division II, in 19 varsity sports, for both men and women. Their distinctive colors are blue and white and their mascot is the Owl.
